RemoteNC is a team of passionate engineers with firsthand experience in every stage of product development. We understand the challenges traditional manufacturing poses for developers. While Taiwanese manufacturing excels in quality, its inefficiencies and lack of transparency often slow down progress. We believe "high-quality manufacturing should be accessible to everyone," and that "anyone should be able to produce their designs cheaply, easily, and quickly." With this in mind, we provide developers with excellent equipment for rapid prototyping, operating our own factories to engage directly with developers.

However, we quickly discovered significant execution challenges. The traditional reliance on skilled "masters" to manage machinery is becoming increasingly impractical due to severe labor shortages. These masters are responsible for quoting, programming, machine setup, material handling, and even machine cleaning, leading to workforce shortages and limiting the growth of small factories.

To provide high-quality services despite limited manpower, a robust information system is essential. After exploring various "Industry 4.0," "Industrial IoT," and "Smart Manufacturing" solutions on the market, we found that most of them focus on helping large factories understand their current status, neglecting the fact that the core of manufacturing lies in Taiwan's small and micro factories. Ironically, these small factories lack the budget and manpower to use such complex software. Many view IoT as useless because it only provides status updates, leaving them unable to implement real improvements.

Bill Gates famously said, "A great lathe operator can earn several times the wage of an average lathe operator, but a great software developer is worth 10,000 times the value of an average software developer." While this principle is widely accepted in the software industry, manufacturing output is still limited by human factors. We can either hire 5,000 skilled workers to achieve the output of 10,000, or hire one outstanding individual and empower them to achieve the output of 10,000.

Clearly, the latter approach is more feasible.

We have redesigned the entire factory workflow, creating an automation solution centered on human-machine collaboration to assist on-site workers. This helps small factories produce more with a lean workforce while increasing transparency through better data integration, enabling smoother communication between design and manufacturing.
